I am sincerely appalled and I would never want my siblings to view something like this with such freedom and ease as they already have. Youtube videos should have ratings for this very purpose. The song is simple but it is the excessive usage of the word nigga and the fact that this song is getting more radio play than Obama's page is getting hits that saddens me. The state of black youth is at an all time critical state of emergency.
This is a cry for help. A cry for better education, a cry for the end of poverty, a cry for the eradication of drugs in low income communities, a cry for attention. Our youth are craving attention and with the advent of viral videos and the thriving vessel of new media that provides them easy access and license to show off we have created a monster. The importance of education is imminent and I pray that parents are teaching their children that when they watch videos such as the "lookin ass nigga video" that they do not transmit such ignorance to other environments and other people. It must stop somewhere. So if you share this video share it with the clear purpose and intention to promote the cessation of ignorance such as this.
These boys need to be entered into a mentoring program for black youth so they can put their time and energies into promoting something more positive on the internet and possibly furthering their education. How come they don't make songs about needing money and scholarships for college? Can someone help to answer this cry for help?
